How It Works

1. Customer selects Barion at checkout and places the order.
2. The addon creates a payment via the Barion Smart Gateway API.
3. Customer is redirected to Barion's hosted payment page to complete payment.
4. Barion sends a server-to-server callback to your store confirming the payment result.
5. The order status is updated automatically and the customer sees the confirmation page.

Checkout Modes

• Redirect (Default) — Customer is redirected to Barion's secure hosted payment page
• Inline (Embedded) — Barion Smart Gateway JS SDK renders an embedded payment form directly on your checkout page, with support for Apple Pay and Google Pay

Configuration

Requirements

• CS-Cart 4.x (Ultimate or Multi-Vendor edition)
• PHP 7.1 or later
• Active Barion merchant account with Smart Gateway enabled (barion.com)
• SSL certificate installed on your store

Supported Countries

Barion Smart Gateway is available for merchants in Hungary and across the European Union, making it ideal for Central European e-commerce stores.

Installation

1. Go to Add-ons > Manage add-ons, click Manual installation, and upload the addon zip
2. Activate the addon and enter the license key
3. Create a new payment method under Administration > Payment methods.
4. Select Barion Smart Gateway as the processor and enter your POSKey and Payee email.
5. Save, activate, and start accepting payments.
