Which promo codes bring orders and which only eat the margin
CS-Cart keeps a single usage counter on a promotion: it shows neither orders, nor customers, nor revenue per code, and the same customer can enter a coupon as many times as they like. The add-on logs every use of a coupon and gift certificate, counts orders, customers, order totals and discount per code, and adds the "usages per customer not more than N" condition to promotions.
Every usage order, status, code, customer, total and discount
|
Paid statuses count the same way as the core usage counter

Limit per customer by account and e-mail, a cancellation frees the attempt

The problem it solves
Promo codes go out in newsletters, to bloggers and partners, and there is nothing to measure them with: a promotion in the admin panel has one total counter that grows with cancelled orders too. How many orders a code brought, for what amount, how much discount it cost and whether one person enters it ten times - the stock store does not answer.
The add-on records every use of a coupon and certificate when the order is placed, follows order edits and deletions and sums everything up into statistics per code. Orders placed before the installation are collected with one button.
Usage log
Order with its status, code, promotion or certificate, customer, order total and discount. Filters by code, customer, order, type, statuses and period. |
Statistics per code
Usages, purchases, customers, order totals, discount, average order, first and last use, a "Total" line and codes nobody used. |
Limit per customer
The "Usages by one customer" promotion condition: the third entry of a coupon with the same account or e-mail is refused. |
Vendors and storefronts
Storefront switcher, the Multi-Vendor vendor panel by a setting, Ultimate companies - everyone sees their own orders. |

What you get after installation
- • The "Marketing → Coupons and promo codes" section with two tabs - "Log" and "Statistics".
- • Log: one row per use of a code in an order - date, order number with a link, status as the standard label, code, promotion or certificate, customer with e-mail, order total, discount or the amount debited from the certificate, vendor in Multi-Vendor.
- • Filters: code and period in the side panel; the advanced search adds customer, order number, type, promotion, statuses and the "Only counted statuses" checkbox. Filter sets are saved the same way as in the order list.
- • Links both ways: the code in the log leads to the statistics, the usage count in the statistics - to the log with that filter, the customer's e-mail - to all their usages.
- • CSV export of the log and the statistics with the current filters: UTF-8 with BOM, ";" delimiter, amounts as numbers, statuses as words - the file opens in Excel without import settings.
- • Collecting data from orders with a progress indicator - for order history, imports and upgrading from the previous version of the add-on.

Statistics you can trust
Numbers per code are honest only when it is clear what is counted and how. The add-on says it right on the screen: under the statistics heading you see which period and which statuses are counted.
- • Only paid statuses count. By default these are the statuses in which the store decreases stock and increases the promotion counter; the set is changed in the settings. The log still shows usages in orders of any status.
- • A purchase counts once. A Multi-Vendor order split between several vendors becomes child orders, but in "Purchases" it is one; the "Total" line counts every order once even when several codes were used in it.
- • No invented discounts. When several promotions fired in one order, the store does not keep the share of each one, and the add-on shows the discount of the whole order marked "shared with other promotions" instead of splitting it at random.
- • Certificates next to coupons: number, debited amount, customer and order - in the same log and the same statistics.
- • Codes without usages on request: coupons of the active cart promotions that nobody used in the period are shown in grey.

The usage limit per customer
A "first order" coupon or a "VIP discount twice a year" cannot be made in stock CS-Cart: there is no "once per customer" condition in promotions. The add-on adds it to the condition builder - next to the coupon code, order subtotal and the other core conditions.
STEP 1
Condition
In the promotion you add "Usages by one customer ≤ N" - like any other condition, together with the coupon code. |
STEP 2
Who it is
The customer is identified by the account and by the e-mail of the order: guest orders with the same e-mail count, and a guest is checked as soon as they enter the e-mail at checkout. |
STEP 3
What counts
Only orders in the counted statuses: a cancelled or failed order frees the attempt, and editing the order in the admin panel creates no new usage. |
STEP 4
What the customer sees
The standard store message that the code cannot be applied - no foreign dialogs or translations. |

Vendors, storefronts and editions
- • Multi-Vendor. The "Show the log and statistics to vendors" setting opens "Marketing → Coupons and promo codes" in the vendor panel: the vendor sees usages in their own orders only, without the "Vendor" column and the storefront switcher; putting another vendor's number into the address changes nothing. Collecting data from orders stays with the marketplace owner.
- • Storefronts. The standard storefront switcher in the header limits the log and the statistics to the orders of one storefront; "All" shows the whole store.
- • CS-Cart Ultimate. The log and the statistics follow the company switcher: a storefront shows its orders, "all storefronts" shows the whole store with the "Storefront" column.
- • Multi-Vendor parent orders are not written to the log: the usage is counted by the vendors' child orders, and the purchase - once.

In the admin panel, not next to it
- • The "Purchases" column in the promotion list: the number of orders in the counted statuses with a link to the log; promotions without a coupon show a dash.
- • The "Usage" tab on the promotion page: summaries for all time and for 30 days, the counted statuses, the recent usages and the "All usages in the log" button.
- • Standard panel elements: status labels from the order list, storefront switcher, period, advanced search with saved sets, pagination, the actions dropdown.
- • Mobile layout: on a phone the log table unfolds into cards with column labels.

Settings, permissions and installation
- • Three settings: statuses in which a usage counts; vendor access; a line with the date of the last data collection and a link to the log.
- • Two privileges in the "Coupons and promo codes" group of the "Marketing" section: viewing the log and statistics and rebuilding the log from orders - granted to administrator groups as usual.
- • Installation through the Cart-Power add-ons manager: the log table, the privileges and the default statuses are created automatically. The add-on uses scheme 4.0 and does not touch the core.
- • Upgrading from 4.3.x: the new version keeps its own log; after the installation press "Collect data from orders", the old table is no longer needed.

What the add-on does not do
- • It does not create coupons and does not change how the core applies them: codes, discounts and the other conditions are still set in promotions.
- • It does not let you edit or delete log rows by hand: the log mirrors the orders and changes only together with them.
- • It does not split the discount between promotions when there are several in one order: the store does not keep that share, and the add-on shows the order discount with a mark.
- • It does not replace storefront messages: a coupon refused by the limit gets the standard store message.
What it costs to run
The add-on writes one row to its own table when an order is placed and reads statuses and totals from the orders when displaying; there are no separate tables with order copies. Collecting data from history runs in batches of 500 orders with a progress indicator and does not disturb the storefront. No cron is needed.
The price is $60 per license for one store. The "Cart-Power: Add-ons Manager" add-on is required.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the usage counter of a promotion?
The core counter is one number that grows with cancelled orders too. The add-on shows the orders themselves, customers, totals and discount per code, counts only the selected statuses and adds a per-customer limit.
Will orders placed before the installation get into the statistics?
Yes. The "Collect data from orders" button re-reads the order history and records coupon and certificate usages; progress is shown with an indicator. In everyday work the collection is not repeated.
How does the add-on recognise one customer?
By the account and by the e-mail of the order. Guest orders with the same e-mail count, and a guest is checked as soon as they enter the e-mail at checkout.
What happens when a customer cancels the order?
Cancelled and failed orders count neither in the statistics nor in the limit: the attempt is freed. The row stays in the log so that the history is visible.
Does the add-on work with gift certificates?
Yes. Certificate debits are recorded in the same log and the same statistics - number, debited amount, customer and order. The stock "Gift certificates" add-on has to be enabled.
Can Multi-Vendor vendors get access?
Yes, with the "Show the log and statistics to vendors" setting. A vendor sees their own orders only, and the data collection stays with the marketplace owner. Access is off by default.

Two add-ons that change how a store performs
Everything else we publish improves one screen. These two change the numbers: how customers find products, and how often they come back.
|
Add-on · Search & merchandising Smart SearchElasticsearch-powered search for large catalogues. The customer types two letters, sees products with images and prices, and buys from the dropdown — even after a typo or with the wrong keyboard layout. Visitors who use the search bar are 24% of traffic and 44% of revenue, and convert about 2.5× better than people who only browse categories. If search returns nothing, up to 80% of them leave.
| ||||||||
Try it on a live catalogue: open the demo store and search with a deliberate typo. |
|
Add-on · Mobile commerce PowerApp — mobile app for your storeA native iOS and Android app running on your CS-Cart data: the same products, prices, stock, promotions, reward points and orders. There is no second catalogue to maintain — everything stays in the admin panel you already use. A mobile site brings a customer in once; an app brings them back for free. Push notifications replace the retargeting budget you spend to buy the same customer a second time.

|
Before release A separate QA pass on every release — the developer who wrote the code is not the person who signs it off. |
After handover Documentation for everything we ship, plus a warranty on the modifications and the project. |
Tell us what the store needs to doDescribe the task in a couple of sentences and we will come back with options, a scope and a price. The consultation is free, and we will say plainly if a ready-made add-on already solves it.
