Fixed exchange rate

An extension for Store Builder and Multi-Vendor that freezes the secondary currency rate at the moment an order is placed and keeps the same amount visible for the whole life of the order. In a standard store, foreign currency values are recalculated on the fly at the current rate, so every rate change shifts the amounts on old orders, in emails and on invoices. Fixed exchange rate stores the coefficient from the purchase day and applies it everywhere the store shows an amount in the secondary currency, that is in the admin panel, in the customer account, in transactional emails, on PDF invoices and in the REST API.

On the order details page the secondary currency amount is calculated at the purchase-day rate, and a badge with the frozen rate and a comparison to the current rate appears under the totals. The administrator sees at a glance how much the customer actually paid

The list of frozen orders gathers the stored rate, the current rate and the percentage difference in a single view. Consistency statuses immediately flag orders where a currency was deleted or the primary currency was changed

An attempt to change the primary currency while frozen orders already exist ends with a clear message and does not go through. This safeguard protects historical rates from accidental damage

The order list, including the totals footer, shows values at the frozen rate. The sum at the bottom matches the amounts in the rows, so the list view does not contradict the order details

In the order editor, fields entered by hand, such as the shipping cost, stay in the primary currency, and the add-on places a clear row next to them with their equivalent at the frozen rate. Editing an old order no longer mixes currencies

In their account, the customer sees exactly the same amount as in the email and on the invoice. The storefront order page calculates the secondary currency at the purchase-day rate, so questions about discrepancies disappear
