This module allows you to recursively check category tree in your store and if a category is "empty" disable it. Assuming the category also contains empty subcategories. Once a category can not be longer considered as empty, it is changed to active status. The algorithm also considers status of vendors. If a category contains only products from not active vendors the category is disabled.

Action:

Set up the status of category after it is considered as 'hidden'. Category can be either hidden or disabled.

Consider disabled products

Hide also categories that have only hidden or inactive products. If this option is not set, alghorithm disable only categories without any products.

Usage

(manual run)

1. Run the action from categories manage page

2. The categories that are empty, contains only disabled produducts or all its products bellong to not active vendors, are disabled now.

3. If you run the action again and the category is not empty ano more, the category will be activated again.

Notice: If the module has not disabled the category itself, it will not subsequently enable it! This behavior is to allow the administrator to manually disable selected categories and avoid unwanted activation.
