By default CS-Cart loads every image on the page at once, including the ones far below the fold that most visitors never scroll to. The visitor waits for pictures they will not see — and waiting is the most expensive thing a store can ask of them.
The add-on is not compatible with the UniTheme2 theme. On such projects the other speed tools — image compression, WebP and resource preloading — still apply.

Lazy loading is a standard technique that search engines handle; the images stay in the page markup and load as the viewport reaches them.
