Signing in by phone number instead of a password
The customer enters a number, gets a code and is in the store - no password, no e-mail with a link, no registration form. If there is no such customer yet, the account is created by the same action. The store decides which methods to keep: phone, e-mail or both.
A code, not a password sign-in and registration in one action, the customer needs no password

Three sign-in modes by phone, by e-mail or both - the store chooses

SMS and e-mail SMS through the gateway add-on, a code to the e-mail with no gateway at all

What the customer sees
The sign-in form shows as many tabs as there are allowed methods: with a single method there are no tabs at all. The customer enters the number, presses "Get the code" and types four digits - that is enough both to sign in and to register.
One action instead of three
No account yet - it is created right after the code is confirmed, with no separate registration form. |
No password needed
The customer neither invents nor recalls a password: the sign-in takes a number and a code. |
The code is under control
The lifetime of the code, the pause before resending and the number of attempts are set in the settings. |
The phone is verified
The customer profile carries a mark of the add-on: the number was confirmed by a code, not typed in by hand. |

The store sets the sign-in methods
The "Available sign-in methods" setting decides what the customer sees. The set of tabs used to be tied to the e-mail field of the registration form, and an unwanted method could not be removed - in 3.3 these are two independent settings.
- • By phone and e-mail - two tabs on the form, the order comes from the "Default authorization method" setting.
- • By phone only - no tabs, sign-in and registration go by the number.
- • By e-mail only - the code is sent by mail and the store needs no SMS gateway at all.
- • The customer e-mail field now controls only the field itself in the registration form and the profile: forbidden, required or optional.
- • The chosen method is validated on the server as well: signing in by a method the store has closed does not work.

Registration and phone verification
- • Phone verification at registration can be switched off - the number then stays an ordinary profile field and the customer registers with no code.
- • A unified registration and sign-in form: a known number signs in, a new one registers.
- • The call request and other store forms can be guarded by phone verification too.
- • A guest order is placed with or without phone verification, as the setting says.
- • A generated e-mail for the customers who left the field empty: the account gets a service address and the order is not lost.

Where the code comes from
SMS are sent by the "SMS services" add-on: the operator is chosen there and its credentials are entered there. The sign-in add-on shows the state of that channel right in its own settings - whether the services add-on is installed and a gateway is chosen.
- • The code to the e-mail is sent by the add-on itself, by a store e-mail, with no SMS gateway.
- • The lifetime of the code, resending and the number of entry attempts are configurable.
- • A hint with the last digits of the number tells the customer where the code has gone.
- • The SMS and e-mail texts are store language variables, the administrator edits them.

Marketplace and several storefronts
- • Multi-Vendor. Signing in by a code works for marketplace customers as well, and phone verification is available on the vendor forms.
- • Several storefronts. The sign-in methods, the e-mail field, phone verification and the code settings are defined per storefront.
- • Themes. The sign-in form and the phone field are drawn by the add-on templates; UniTheme2 has templates of its own.

What is new in version 3.3
- • The sign-in methods are chosen by a setting: by phone and e-mail, by phone only or by e-mail only. Tabs appear on the form only when there are two methods.
- • Phone verification at registration can be switched off - the number stays a profile field.
- • The add-on works without the "SMS services" add-on: in the e-mail mode the code is sent by mail, and the state of the SMS channel is shown in the settings.
- • The "Authorization by e-mail" setting is renamed to "Customer e-mail field" and controls only the field in the registration form and the profile.
- • The "Place order" button works for a customer with an unverified phone when verification is not required.
- • The cart collected before the sign-in survives the code confirmation at checkout.
- • In stores with old e-mail templates the message with the code is sent again.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need an SMS gateway?
For a code to the phone - yes: SMS are sent by the "SMS services" add-on, where the operator is chosen. If signing in by e-mail is enough for the store, no gateway is needed at all: the code goes by mail.
What happens to existing customers and their passwords?
Nothing is lost. The existing accounts stay, and signing in by password keeps working while it is allowed by the "Type of authorization" setting.
Can we keep the phone sign-in only?
Yes, that is the "By phone only" mode: the form has no tabs, and password recovery is hidden because the customer may have no e-mail address at all.
Does it fit Multi-Vendor?
Yes, the add-on works in every edition of CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.17.1-4.21.1, and the settings are defined per storefront.
What does it cost and how do we update it?
The add-on costs $60 per store licence. Updates are installed through "Cart-Power: Add-ons Manager" or the CS-Cart Upgrade Center.

Two add-ons that change how a store performs
Everything else we publish improves one screen. These two change the numbers: how customers find products, and how often they come back.
|
Add-on · Search & merchandising Smart SearchElasticsearch-powered search for large catalogues. The customer types two letters, sees products with images and prices, and buys from the dropdown — even after a typo or with the wrong keyboard layout. Visitors who use the search bar are 24% of traffic and 44% of revenue, and convert about 2.5× better than people who only browse categories. If search returns nothing, up to 80% of them leave.
| ||||||||
Try it on a live catalogue: open the demo store and search with a deliberate typo. |
|
Add-on · Mobile commerce PowerApp — mobile app for your storeA native iOS and Android app running on your CS-Cart data: the same products, prices, stock, promotions, reward points and orders. There is no second catalogue to maintain — everything stays in the admin panel you already use. A mobile site brings a customer in once; an app brings them back for free. Push notifications replace the retargeting budget you spend to buy the same customer a second time.

How we work
What you get besides the code
|
Before we start We discuss the goal, offer options and write the specification. You approve scope and price before development begins. |
While we build A named project manager reports progress on a fixed schedule. You always know what is in work and what is next. |
|
Before release A separate QA pass on every release — the developer who wrote the code is not the person who signs it off. |
After handover Documentation for everything we ship, plus a warranty on the modifications and the project. |
Tell us what the store needs to doDescribe the task in a couple of sentences and we will come back with options, a scope and a price. The consultation is free, and we will say plainly if a ready-made add-on already solves it.
