5. Preloading resources (Preload)
The Add-on allows you to tell the browser which resources (for example, a font, script or style) should be downloaded and cached as soon as possible. This is useful when a resource is needed a few seconds after the page loads - and you want to speed up the process. The order in which resources are loaded is also configurable.
6. Establishing a preliminary connection (preconnect and preconnect crossorigin)
Preloading resources works great if the resources are located on your server, but if the resource is located on a third-party domain, then you not only need to tell the browser to load the resource as soon as possible, but also reduce the time it takes to establish a connection to the third-party domain as much as possible. Establishing a new connection usually takes a few hundred milliseconds. By setting up a pre-connection, you will save time and download resources from this domain faster.
You can configure the preload of fonts, images, scripts, styles, but you need to approach the issue intelligently.
