Stock CS-Cart offers a choice between two extremes: count every unit, or do not count at all — in which case even a product at zero keeps selling without limits. What is missing in between is the simple option: this product is available, or it is not.

How it works

• Quantity above zero — the product is in stock and the customer orders any amount of it.
• The quantity does not change after an order — nothing is written off.
• Quantity at zero — the storefront says «out of stock» and the product cannot be bought.
• The mode is enabled for every product at once or for selected items.
• Three ways to enable it in bulk: mass editing, product import and overriding the global tracking setting.
• It can be forced for the whole store, with no per-product exceptions.

When it helps

Stores selling from a supplier's warehouse or made to order: they do not know the exact stock but need to show whether an item is available. Services and digital goods, where quantity is not limited. And anyone keeping their accounting in an external system and only holding an availability flag in the store.

Is the stock decremented after an order?

No: in simplified mode the quantity stays as it is until you change it yourself.
