Two shoppers, one last unit, one very awkward refund. Stock Guard closes that gap three ways: it holds an item in a shopper's cart for a set window so a second buyer can't check out with stock that's already spoken for; it automatically offers Pre-Order once a product is low or fully out of stock, with a custom message and a working Buy button even when CS-Cart's native Add to Cart button has disappeared; and it lets shoppers join a waitlist for anything currently unavailable.
Every feature works store-wide out of the box, and can be overridden per product from a panel right on the product edit page — useful for the one item that needs a longer reservation window or shouldn't offer pre-order at all. On Multi-Vendor installs, admin decides in Settings whether vendors can touch these overrides on their own listings, or whether it's admin-only.
When pre-order is turned on for a product, Stock Guard automatically sets that product's own "Out of stock actions" to "Buy in advance" — the one native CS-Cart setting that actually allows the add-to-cart to succeed — so there's no manual product-by-product setup step.
