Windcave supports credit/debit cards, 3D Secure authentication, and multiple currencies across New Zealand, Australia, and globally through a secure hosted checkout flow.

Supported Payment Methods

• Debit Cards — EFTPOS, Maestro
• 3D Secure — Automatic 3DS 2.0 authentication when required by issuing bank
• Recurring Billing — Supported via Windcave's tokenization (requires additional setup)

Requirements

• CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor 4.x
• PHP 7.1 or higher
• PHP SOAP extension (required only for PxFusion)
• Windcave business account with REST API credentials (username + API key) OR PxFusion credentials (username + password)

Gateway Types

• REST API - Hosted Payment Page (Recommended) — Customer is redirected to Windcave's secure HPP. Modern JSON-based API with full 3D Secure 2.0 support, FPRN notifications, and no SOAP dependencies.
• PxFusion (Legacy) — Customer is redirected to PxFusion payment page. Legacy SOAP-based gateway. Still supported by Windcave but REST API is recommended for new integrations.

How It Works

1. Customer selects Windcave at checkout and clicks "Place Order"
2. The addon creates a payment session via the Windcave API (REST or SOAP)
3. Customer is redirected to Windcave's secure hosted payment page
4. Customer enters card details and completes payment (with 3D Secure if required)
5. Customer is redirected back to your store
6. The addon verifies the payment via API; Windcave also sends an FPRN notification for server-to-server confirmation (REST API only)
7. Order status is updated based on the payment result

3D Secure Support

The addon automatically includes customer email and phone number in payment requests (REST API) to enable 3D Secure 2.0 authentication. Windcave will automatically trigger 3D Secure authentication when the issuing bank requires it.

Installation

1. Upload the addon files to your CS-Cart installation
2. Go to Add-ons > Manage add-ons and install "CartModules: Windcave Payment Gateway, enter the license key"
3. Go to Administration > Payment methods and create a new payment method
4. Select "Windcave Payment Gateway" as the processor
5. Select your gateway type (REST API or PxFusion)
6. Enter your credentials from the Windcave dashboard
7. Select your currency and configure order status mappings
8. Save and test with sandbox mode before going live
