What it does

Connect your CS-Cart store to Scalapay — a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) payment provider popular in Europe and beyond. Customers choose Scalapay at checkout, complete payment on Scalapay’s secure page, and return to your store with the order marked as paid after automatic capture.

The add-on also displays Scalapay’s official promotional JavaScript widget on the product page, cart totals, and optionally on checkout — so shoppers see installment messaging before they pay.

How it works

1. Install and configure — install the add-on, create a payment method with the Scalapay processor, and enter your Access token, Merchant token (for the widget), environment (test/live), currency, and BNPL product type.
2. Customer checkout — the customer places an order and selects Scalapay; the store sends order data to Scalapay and redirects to the Scalapay payment page.
3. Payment completion — after successful payment, Scalapay redirects back to your store; the add-on verifies status, captures the payment if needed, and sets the order to Paid.

Requirements

• CS-Cart / Multi-Vendor 4.4.0 or higher
• PHP 7.4.0 or higher
• Active Scalapay merchant account with API credentials from the Scalapay Merchant Portal
• Access token (API key) for payment processing; Merchant token for the storefront widget (Developer section in the portal)

Common questions

Q: Does it work with Multi-Vendor?
A: Yes. Payment method settings support Ultimate and Multi-Vendor editions (ROOT and vendor-level configuration).

Q: Is the promotional widget mandatory?
A: No. The widget is optional and can be enabled or disabled per page (product, cart, checkout) in add-on settings.

Q: How do refunds work?
A: Enable “Auto-refund on order cancellation” in add-on settings. When a paid Scalapay order is changed to Canceled in CS-Cart, a full refund is sent to Scalapay. Partial or manual refunds can be processed in the Scalapay Merchant Portal.

Q: Can I test before going live?
A: Yes. Set the payment method to Test mode and follow Scalapay’s sandbox testing guide at developers.scalapay.com.
