Features in categories

Extension to CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor allows you to set product features on categories, and copy those features to products which are using categories. We don't need to edit each products separately and to set features to entire group of products in one category, just choose features during category edition and they will be set to all products that belong to this category.

We start from installing the extension:

In add-on configuration, the following options are available:

- Use in subcategories: if features should be also applied to products in subcategories of selected category.

- Save settings in categories: if feature options should be saved on category level for later use.

- Confirm features refresh in products: forces administrator to confirm change of features in category products, by marketing a special selectbox.

- Flip order of searching in categories: alters the logic of applying category features to products.

- Leave the features with the products: do not empty the product features, if they are empty on category level.

- Logic of applying multi-variant/checkbox features to products: changes the special cases of applying multi-variant and checkbox-type features from categories to products.

During category edition there is a new tab available, which contains features settings. If checkbox "Update product features" is marked, when saving category the features will be copied to all products that belong to the category and its subcategories (depending on configuration).

If field "Save settings in categories" is marked, selected feature variants won't disappear after saving.

If field "Save settings in categories" in configuration is marked, assigning product to the category will also assign respective features to it. Field "Update product features" confirms this operation, to avoid situation where script is executed even though product category hasn't changed.

It's a very useful add-on if you're setting up a product directory for the first time. Instead of having to configure features every single time, you can create category tree, assign features to it, and then add products much faster than before, with features already assigned. Didn't encounter any significant bugs in add-on, so I really recommend it.
