The «Image optimization» add-on provides an opportunity to reduce the size (in bytes), without significant loss of image quality. 

Choose a convenient mode of operation: compression or conversion. 
Adjust the image quality level for each mode:

How does it work?

Step 1

Go to the add-on settings, on the "Basic" tab select the service through you want to optimize images.

Resmush - does not change the image format, reduces the weight in bytes.

Conversion to WebP - changes the image format to webp, by reducing the size in bytes. Tick the boxes you need.

There are Cron commands at the bottom of the "Basic" tab. Add one of them to your server and the images will be converted automatically

Step 2

Go to the "Services" tab. Set the required quality level for each service, your task is to find a balance between the quality and the image size in bytes.

Step 3

Go to "Administration - Image Optimization" (or "Settings - Image Optimization" for CS-Cart 4.18.x and higher)

Step 4

It is very convenient to manage image optimization manually on this page.

The table makes it clear which images are optimized and which are not.

The previous image size and the size after optimization are visible

Step 5

You can optimize images individually or several ones, or optimize all images with one button.

To find specific images in the entire list, you can use the "Search". It is in the side menu. You can search by name, type, weight, status etc.

Модуль работает так, как заявлено.

Есть много полезных настроек, можно делать сжатие по-расписанию, либо сразу при загрузке картинок.
Качество сжатия потрясающее, разницы не видно, а вес у картинок бывает уменьшается в 3 раза.

Есть бэкапы и отдельная страница управления картинками, что замечательно для отслеживания состояния текущих изображений.

Отличное решение. Модуль позволил значительно сжать мои картинки без потери их качества, тем самым значительно сократив вес страниц. Для главной страницы например уменьшил вес страницы на 1,2Мб, а это очень прилично. Огромное спасибо разработчикам за такой модуль.

Отличное и очень необходимое решение, для тех кто не думает какие картинки заливаются на сайт, часто (год спустя) после халатного залития разных картинок приходится столкнуться с тем, что вдруг и места нет на хостинге и сайт как то стал "тупить". Благодаря данному решению можно частично забыть об оптимизации тк картинки оптимизируются при добавлении сразу, плюс советую поставить так же модуль от этой же команды "Размер Детальных Изображений " который и вовсе проконтролирует размер изображений.

Большое спасибо разработчикам за помощь и консультацию в настройке модуля, желаю успехов и новых достижений!

Отличный модуль! Сжал все картинки почти в двое, при этом качество изображения вообще не изменилось. Реально ощутимо повысилась скорость загрузки категорий с иконками - это большой плюс!
Хотелось бы отметить обратную связь от разработчиков модуля - разъяснили по настройкам, помогли с конфликтующим модулем "обрезка картинок".
В общем очень рекомендую!

[!] When converting an image that is already in webp format to webp format, the image was deleted (the image was saved in a folder with image backups, it was not permanently deleted). Fixed.
