Buy X Get Y

Overview

Buy X Get Y add-on extends the standard set of CS-Cart promotion functionality. It adds a "Buy one, get one free" (BOGO) or "two for the price of one" sales promotion option. The module allows creating a special promotion by offering customers another item of the same type for free if they complete the purchase.

Getting started with Buy X Get Y

Installing add-on

Install Buy X Get Y add-on to Add-ons=>Manage add-ons. Click the “+” button in the upper right corner, select the archive and click “Upload and install”.

Now you can find the installed add-on in the list, check that the add-on is active and configure the basic parameters.

Setting the basic parameters of the add-on

First of all, after installation, you must fill in the basic settings of the module:

License key — Enter your License key to activate the add-on. You will receive this key in the letter with the order confirmation. You can also see license keys for all add-ons you purchased in your HelpDesk account. Enter HelpDesk, and navigate to «License» area.

Creating and editing promotions

After the basic settings have been completed, you can start creating notifications.

Go to Marketing=>Promotions and push “+” in the top right corner.

A window will open to add a new promotion

You will have to fill out the mandatory fields:

• Name;
• Detailed description;
• Short description.

You can also configure the availability period, priority, the ability to accumulate with other promotions, and status.

After filling in the main fields, you must configure the conditions under which the promotion will be applied to the cart. Go to the Conditions tab

You can customize promotion conditions for certain products and categories.

In setting Same products in cart (SD: Buy X Get Y), we indicate the number of products that need to be bought in order for the promotions to apply.

In order for the promotion to work, it is imperative that you select a category or product.

After the conditions have been configured, go to the Bonuses tab where we specify Number of bonus product (SD: Buy X Get Y) to indicate how many bonus products the buyer will receive for every X products specified in the promotion conditions.

Save the promotions and check it on the storefront - the bonus products (Y) should have a zero-price if the promotion conditions were fulfilled.
