Weight products

The module makes it easier to work with weight and rifled goods, as well as goods that do not have a fixed weight. It is intended for marketplaces that work in parallel with both products sold individually and with weight products.

Working with weight products

Most often, those who sell products have to deal with weight goods and goods that do not have a fixed weight. In this case, there will be piece goods on display: a package of pasta, a can of canned food, a chocolate bar; and weight: sugar, flour, cereals; and goods with a non-fixed weight: a chicken carcass is sold piece by piece, but the price is set per kilogram, while the weight of the carcass can be 1.2, 1.5 and 1.7 kilograms.

And all these options need to be taken into account somehow when selling goods. To simplify working with them, we have created the module "Weight products".

Module functionality

The module allows you to set up units of change for each product category:

  • Pieces,
  • Kilograms,
  • Meters,
  • Liters, etc.

In addition, you can set the minimum step for adding products to the basket: for example, set a step of half a kilogram for vegetables, and for the same chicken carcass, let's say 1.2 kg, the average weight of one carcass from your supplier.

The buyer adds the goods to the cart in a given step and places an order, leaves the card details, but the money is not debited immediately, but after assembly, because you first need to find out the exact weight of the goods. After all, it is impossible to gain exactly 0.5 kg of tomatoes. You can take 3-4 fruits, and you will end up with a little more or a little less than the specified weight.

The collector collects the goods, weighs them and enters the data into the order. When the assembly is completed, the cost of the order is recalculated, and the specified amount is debited from the buyer's card.

Declination of units

To create a pleasant impression of the store, it is important to correctly design the product card, including literally: without errors, typos and with the correct ending. But let's say you have tomatoes on sale, and they are put on display in 0.5 kilogram increments, and the buyer needs more, he adds another 0.5 kilograms, and he gets 1 kilogram.

In order for the correct endings for units of measurement to be displayed on the showcase, we have created a reference book where we have entered all declension options for the units of measurement used.
