From CS-Cart 4.10.1 this behaviour is part of the platform, so the add-on is not updated or supported. It is distributed as is, free of charge, and the last version it works with is 4.9.3. The page is kept for stores on those older releases.

The «Recalculate» button is one of those small interface details that irritate almost everyone: the customer changes the quantity, the total stays wrong, and they have to press a button to make the store agree with itself.

What it does

  • Recalculates the cart total automatically using AJAX.
  • Removes the need to press «Recalculate» after changing a quantity.
  • Works when product options are changed as well.
  • All prices in the cart update by themselves.

What to use today

On CS-Cart 4.10.1 and newer nothing is needed: automatic recalculation is built into the platform. On 4.9.3 and older this add-on adds it free of charge.

CS-Cart is full packed with a lot of add-ons and functionalities. But, every CS-Cart's competitors has a free and embedded "automatic cart recalculator". Unfortunately CS-Cart is missing this crucial functionality. Thanks to Cart Power you can get this "automatic cart recalculator" add-on for CS-Cart and be able to compete with your competitors, because none customer see and puch the "Recalculate" button on cart page of CS-Cart. With Cart Power "Automatic Cart Recalculate" add-on, no more need to push this "Recalculate" button: Recalculation is automatic! Like on your competitors websites.

As i have write to other addons of cart-power, they dont make their addons 100% working perfect to older versions ( i do have V3.X).
But they do the best and solve the issues that you will deal after installation.
This addon wasnt working in first place, after dealing some things i contacted with them, and in several days they fixed it. Now it works great. It does what exactly it says.

Addon appears to be only halfway developed. It does not work on Input option types and it does not work on Text Box option types. Changing these items does not kick off a recalculate. :(

Customers our not always aware of the fact that if they change the content of their shopping cart that they need to click on the recalculate button. In our experience that is factor in wether the customer finds the consumer experience pleasant or not. If he or she has to do to many things to order their product they get annoyed and leave your store. This addon really contributes to a pleasant shopping experience.

Pros:

1. easy to implement into any CS Cart V4 store
2. it is cheap but yields maximum results
3. addon does not slowdown the performance of the store

Cons:

1. it should have been in the standard default package of CS Cart and thus it is not a real con for this addon.

And if.. you should run into issues, just contact Cart-Power.com They are quite willing to help you configure this addon or just about any addon you purchased from them and make it work for you.
